We are so pleased to inform you that Grandma Brocious is here in Raleigh for the month of December. We hope that each of you will take this opportunity to visit her here at our house and also maybe invite her on an outing or to your homes for a visit if you are close enough...don't worry..."THAT BEAR WON'T HURT YOU!!!!!"
Please know that this in no way should change our plan for our regular family Christmas celebration. I'm counting on everybody being together on Christmas Day "like we always do," though I think we have all agreed to try our best to cut down on the gifts and upgrade the family time that we all cherish so much.
The consensus is that aunts and uncles will not give gifts to nieces and nephews and that the SIBLING GIFT EXCHANGE will take place but will be GAG GIFTS and/or WHITE ELEPHANT gifts...just for fun....NOTHING OF GREAT VALUE...let's keep it humorous and fun and not serious.
I'm almost positive (though not totally, because I haven't cleared this with my parents since they got back from Africa this past week) that Crutchfield Christmas Eve will be at our house this year too. Details to follow, but you know how much I want each of you WHO CAN BE to come...and also, I hope you know how much I UNDERSTAND those of you who can't. As I said, I'll send details later.
I'll also probably be posting some recent photos tomorrow if I get a chance.

Who in our family gets paid "man pay"? --a story I let Jodi share!
What shall we bring in the way of food for Christmas?
...only those of us who do "man work"...LOL!
As for food for Christmas, we'll do the basics (turkey, ham, dressing, beverages, etc.) and I think it usually works out pretty well for everybody to bring whatever else they want to. Grandma Brocious made a wonderful Cranberry congealed salad for Thanksgiving, I'll ask her to make that for Christmas too. If you all want to talk among yourselves to coordinate side dishes and desserts, it would be great!
