Requesting supportive thoughts and prayers!

Shannon's mother, Dolly, suffered a stroke day before yesterday during heart catheterization procedure. She was rushed to surgery within 20 minutes. Shannon reports that she is completely cognitive and can respond with positive gestures. The clot on the left side of her brain has caused paralysis to the right side of her body.

When I talked to Shannon today, she sounded much better than she did yesterday. Understanding that rehabilitation is likely to be long and tedious, she sounded nonetheless optimistic that there will be significant improvement over time.

As I understand it, a second MRI is slated for tomorrow, at which time doctors may be better able to determine the extent of damage.

Shannon's cousin flew in yesterday; her sister drove from Florida last night; and her aunt (Dolly's twin) is to fly in tomorrow. Their church family and close friends are also being amazingly supportive as Shannon is spending as much time as possible at the hospital with her mother and Jay is back at work and taking care of the children.

Please keep all of them in your thoughts and prayers!
