We just saw Slumdog Millionaire at the theatre (I know...it's incredible that we have been to the movies twice within three weeks; prior to seeing Valkyrie a couple of weeks ago, we haven't been to the movies in over a year).
Slumdog Millionaire really deserves (imo) the Academy Awards nominations that it received earlier this week. We're glad we saw it and recommend this inspirational love story for most to see. It's setting isin and around Mumbai, in contemporary times (cell phones, bottled water, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire tv show, etc.).
We recommend that you see it if you can!

Yes we saw it too! ;) It was very good! I do think it deserves to win what it was nominated for too. Although I have not seen the other movies that were nominated. I tried to get Courtney to go see Doubt today but she just wants to go to Target-lol. Slumdog Millionaire did a great job of putting you right in India. It was excellent and I recommend it to anyone.
Loved it!! Highly recommended! I wanted to see the movie but thought, because of the lack of trailers released on TV, that it would be more of an abstract movie (which was fine with me). But it wasn't. It was very real and straight forward. Can't wait until it comes to DVD.
