Grand's surgery yesterday (removal of a cyst from her spine that was pressing on a nerve and causing a lot of pain) was successful. When I left her today (I went yesterday and spent the night with Papa...who, by the way, has fallen out of bed a couple of times in the last month) she was in good spirits, had done some walking and reports that she has no pain. Aunt Sue is there now and will spend the night. Grand will come home from the hospital tomorrow. Aunt Sue is seeing about getting a different bed for Papa...he is currently sleeping on a twin bed, and we think it's entirely inappropriate for him, though he has been sleeping on it for several years. A bigger concern, though is WHY he has fallen off the bed. We'll figure that out; but for the time, it's good that he get a bigger bed.
I spent a good deal of time last night "cleaning up" both of their computers. Seems like they're both working a lot faster and a lot cleaner now.
Incidentally, Kelly has been suffering from plantar faciiis (an inflamation of a tendon in her right foot) for over six months. The pain is severe and is exacerbated by working so many serving shifts at The Cheesecake Factory. It is not unusual for her to work three double shifts in a row...on her feet WAAAYYYY too much! She is seeing a specialist and had her second cortizone shot today. Let's hope and pray that this will be the solution to an on-going source of pain for Kelly!
Well, I guess that's the medical news for today, I guess!
