I guess I am a little slow posting to the blog. Courtney and I had a great time camping. We caught the ferry in Harkers island and rode to Cape Lookout....you have to carry all your stuff on to the ferry and then walk about a mile to your campsite so I suggest a few cans of potted meat and some crackers. That was a tough walk, we will be packing lighter next time. We saw some other people camping and Courtney said "Well, they have more stuff than us" The difference was there was 7 of them! It is very primitive, there is barley any running water on the island, they have a rinse station, but you are not allowed to use soap. Oh and there are not even trash cans on the island...any trash you have, you have to take it back with you. The only scary thing was the gangsta racoons on the island...they steal your stuff and they apparently watch you while you're sleeping, because there were racoon tracks around our tent when we got up on Sunday. We set up our tent about 200 yards from the lighthouse and 50 yards from the ocean on the beach so all in all it was a very beautiful and peaceful trip!
