Good news and good news

After several days of continuing to struggle to get Dixie's meds down (which we did, but it was VERY stressful...more for Bob and me than for Dixie, but stressful nonetheless), I went to PetSmart today to get some of the recommended pill pockets. I bought 2 bags and a couple of cans of "silver-ass" dog food...you know...the kind that comes in the little "cat cans" ...just kidding to you cat lovers. I get home and give her a pill pocket without any pills...she gobbled it down. Then I have her one with her medicine in it...she promptly spit it out and then ate AROUND the pills, leaving all the wonder drugs on the kitchen floor. UGGGHHH!

So then I tried the silver-ass dog food, half a can...you know, the kind that looks like I might like to eat it. She gobbled it all down, medicine and all!  Back to PetSmart with the unopened bag of pill pockets (by the way, that stuff costs $9.00 a bag), leaving the open bag at home for "treats." I exchanged the unopened bag of pill pockets for 8 more cans of silver-ass dog food and 2 lids. Oh yeah, then I stopped at the drug store and spent $6.00 more for a pill crusher. So I just crushed 3 Tramadol, opened  2 anitbiotic capsules, and mixed it all together with "Chicken a la King" or some such! She licked the bowl clean. HURRAY! Meanwhile, she hasn't touched her regular dry dog food, so it looks to me like she'll be on that princess food for the rest of her life.

The other "good" news...I GUESS...is that I finally bit the bullet tonight and ordered a SmartPhone. While some might say it's about time, this has not been an easy decision for me. For those who care to know, I got a Droid Razr M, which is a Google-driven Motorola. It comes highly recommended and is not too different from what Bob has had. I'm kind of excited and a little nervous...mostly about those "hidden costs" that always seem to come with changes in phones and services. I know that you younger generation think this is just all in a day's work, but we elderly folk are slow to change sometimes.

Bob and I are lucky to have been invited to the NC State vs. Florida State game on Saturday (thanks Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Sue). We're VERY excited!

GO WOLFPACK!!!!

I have been fighting and fighting if I want a smart phone myself. Well not wanting it, I know I want it, but similarly, if I can afford it. I like the Razor M also. Good luck with it all! And yay for Dixie taking her meds!
