Well, we had several good days of getting Dixie's medicine in with the special dog food; but tonight it appears that she is rejecting the chicken flavor. Unfortunately, I had mixed the medicine in with that flavor and she wouldn't eat it. Then I added some beef flavor, which she has been devouring for two days (twice a day). She ate around the chicken (with the medicine) and ate the beef. I just added some more beef flavor and she's not trying it. I don't know what to do! She still has five days of antibiotics left to take, along with pain medicine, and I don't know how we're going to get it down her.
Also, I don't think she's been feeling well today. It looks to us like the area around her incision is swollen more than it was earlier and she hasn't been very "perky" today. While all of this might not have been alarming in the first few days, I thought that after more than a week, she would be getting "better," not worse. I guess her activity level and demeanor was misleading early on.
I'll probably call the vet tomorrow and see if they can take a peek, just for our reassurance that she is recovering as expected and not regressing.
BTW, my new phone hasn't arrived yet...so I'm not too happy about that either.
On a more pleasant note, we have made it to the gym and had good workouts for three consecutive days!
Oh...and how about that WOLFPACK????!!!!

Luckily, she finally ate the food with the meds. She still seems sluggish/lethargic, so I'm about to call the vet. I'll update later today.
Well looks like you are busy. Almost like having a newborn in the house or maybe an old relative!
