Not liking her meds

Dixie got her bandages off yesterday, so now her wound is visible...not a pretty sight; but we are confident that when she gets her stitches out and her hair grows back she will look more like herself. She's being really good, EXCEPT that she's now balking at taking her meds, which the vet says she MUST have. We had a difficult time both times yesterday and we tried everything we know. This morning was a little better (thank goodness) as we tried to follow some of the tips I read about online. Hopefully, tonight we won't have too much trouble. She has to take her meds for another week and a half.

We're hoping to make it to the mountains sometime later this month, probably around the 20th if all goes well.

Meanwhile, we're just hanging out here, watching a lot of tv.

Dad (Bob) has been exercising faithfully for about 10 weeks now. He does at least an hour of vigorous walking/jogging EVERY day. He's beginning to see good results, and I'm very proud of him for his perseverance.

I, on the other hand, continue to struggle with motivation to exercise and eat right. Some days are good, but I'm just not really feeling it. I really wish I would follow Bob's example and really get into the groove. Maybe soon.

We're pretty bummed about the delay (hopefully it's just a delay) in the hockey season. We were all set to get started this Friday, but it's really looking like there won't be any games probably until January.

I start orientation/training for my new part-time job at the UNC School of Pharmacy on Friday. I'll be reading and screening applications for admission...about 10-20 hours per week; most of the work will be done online, so I won't have to go to Chapel-you-know-where very often.

I'm also looking into opportunities at NC State (College of Education) for next semester.

Hope everybody is well and happy and that some of you are reading this blog. Would love to see a comment or two if you are. Just click on the little pencil beside the "Comment" part and see if you can post a little something. If you have trouble, shoot me an email at jcbrocious@gmail.com and I'll see what I can do to help you out. Maybe I don't have the settings right and I might not know if you don't tell me.

Have you tried wrapping cheese around the meds? Also, pup pill pockets? You might have tried it already..

YAY! A comment! Thanks! I think we've got it now. We had tried the cheese, bread, peanut butter, meat, etc. to no avail. We were going to try the pill pockets until the vet tried that and she spit it across the floor. LOL. Anyway, we have changed our approach and the two of us together (along with one of those pill syringe-like things are getting it down-pat. Thanks, though, for the suggestion! AND for reading and commenting on the blog.
